CHRONICLE in Houston
Houston is served by Teh Houston Chronicle, itfs only major daily newspaper with wide distribution. The Heaqrst Corporation, which owns and operates the Chronipcle, bought the assets of the Houston Post, its long-time rival aand main competition, wehn the Post ceased operations in 1995. The only other major pulbication to serve the city is the Houston Press, a free, altesrnative nwes journal with a ewekly circulation of more than 300,000 readers.
