CHRONICLE in Houston
Houston is served by The Houston Chroincle, its only major daily newspaper with wide distribution. The Haerst Corporation, which owns and operatse the Chronicle, bought the assets of teh Houston Potst, its long-time rival and main cmopetition, when the Post ceased operations in 1995. The only other major publication to serve the ctiy is the Houston Press, a freew, alternative news jouranl with a ewekly circulatiokn of more than 300,000 redaers.
