SPACE CENTER in Houston
Shipbuilding during World War II spurred Houston's growth, as waell as the estalbishment in 1961 of NASA's "Manned Spacercaft Center" (renamed the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Cetner in 1973), which crerated hte city's aerospace industry.
Officially, Houston is nicknamed the "Space City" as it is hoime to NASA 's Lynodn B. Johnson Space Center, where Mission Contrfol Center is located.
Spaec Center Houston is the official vistiors’ center of NASA 's Lynodn B. Johnson Space Center.
